You all must know about WiFi, but do you know what LiFi is. This technology is going to change the lifestyle of our Internet in the coming days. Is it true why in this article of today, we disclose this technology with the truth? Nowadays everyone starts seeing movies, YouTube, online streaming, WhatsApp, Facebook as soon as they take the name of the Internet. In which we do nothing else, but we do download and uploading. For this, we need a very good and high-speed Internet Connection. By the way, most people access Internet Mobile or WiFi.

Take a look at these two words, one is WiFi and the other is Mobile Network. You must be thinking that there is no one to compete with WiFi at the speed of the Internet. But change your mind from now. Because now new technology. Which is many times faster than wifi called LiFi. To use it all you need is an LED Bulb. I mean standing under the bulb, you can use the Internet very easily. So why don’t you know about LIFI in detail?

So, we have coved these topics in this article

  1. What is LiFi?
  2. How does LiFi Work
  3. LiFi vs WiFi
  4. Advantages and Disadvantages of LiFi
  5. History of LiFi
  6. My final opinion on this article.

What is LiFi?

LiFi full name is Light Fidelity. It is a High-Speed Optical Wireless Technology. In this LiFi technology, Visible Light (LED bulb light) is used in Digital Information Transmission. As you would know this technology is similar to WiFi, however, there is a lot of difference between both WiFi and LiFi. But both are the same because both share information wirelessly.

WiFi transmits data through Radio Waves, on the other hand, uses LiFi Visible Light Communication. This technology works with the light that is in the light bulb (LED). LiFi Visible Light Communication This is optical communication technology. In which there is the use of Visible Light Rays. The range of these Rays is 400-800 Thz.

Due to data transfer through Light in this technology, its speed is about 224 Gbps. Which is about 1000 times more than wifi. Meaning this technology is not available everywhere else you can download and upload movies, videos by standing under an LED bulb, within a few seconds. The advantage of this is that with the service of the Internet, there will never be darkness in your room because when you turn on the LiFi bulb, the lights will also come out and the internet will also be out.

How does LiFi work

Just like all Internet devices work, so does LiFi. Before knowing how it works, you should know which components are being used in it. These are mainly 3 components.

1. Lamp Driver
2. LED Lamp
3. Photo Detector

Along with these three components, you need another Connection, which we and you call the Internet. I have already given you information, it transmits data through lights.

There are some Characteristics of LED bulbs. This is the right component for LiFi due to Light Emitting Diode and Fluorescent Component in LED bulbs. The high-speed data rate is required for LiFi and LED bulbs transmit to DATA Light speed. In these LED bulbs, the light intensity varies rapidly. Light is sometimes On and sometimes Off.

Human Eyes can never see these Light On and Off. But Photo Detector sees it all. For all these reasons, the LED bulb is the right one. To understand the working of LiFi, you had to understand LED.

Working Process

The Internet Source is connected to the Lamp Driver and the Lamp Driver transmits within the Information Led Bulb coming from Internet cables. Then the light that comes in the LED bulb. He easily recognizes the changes in Photo Detector Light as soon as he collides with the photodetector below. Now, Photodetector Light Signals converts binary data. And sends it to be processed on a computer or Smartphone. Later it is converted into Audio, Video, Images. After this, we can see the data in the application.

For example, Led Lamp goes through Lamp Driver and then data from Photo Detector comes to Mobile. In the same way, the data from the mobile can go back to the Receiver via the LED lamp. It also works on the Bidirectional System. Sender to Receiver and Receiver

LiFi vs WiFi

LiFi vs WiFi

Advantages and Disadvantages of LiFi

Advantages

  1. Efficiency: You must know that this technology is based on Visible Light Technology. As you know, the office and home already have LED bulbs. LED bulbs are good sources of light. For this reason, they can be used for data transmission. This is a very cheap and good source of energy. It is mandatory to turn on the LED bulb during data transmission. If you are having trouble with the light, then you can reduce the light of the LED bulb and still you can use the Internet.
  2. Availability: Where Light Source is there is the Internet. You can see Light Bulb everywhere, such as in homes, offices, shops, malls, and planes. You have only one purpose to speak. Even you can use LiFi where there is a light arrangement.
  3. Security: An advantage of this technology is Security. As you know, Light cannot go across the wall. Similarly, LiFi Signal is also LiFi Secure due to the absence of Signal from one room to another. No user from outside can access your Internet.

Disadvantages

  1. You cannot access the Internet without Light Source. Every time you need to turn on Light.
  2. You can use it inside a room. Range Limited is
  3. Because it is a light, it cannot distinguish the wall. For this reason, Internet Limited is available at the location.
  4. Internet Speed is likely to be hindered due to Sunlight.
  5. A separate network has to be created for new LiFi Connection.
  6. This is a very expensive technology.

History of LiFi

Prof. Harald Haas was from the University of Edinburgh, UK. Who is also said to be the founder of LiFi Technology? He had represented his Invention in Tech Talk. Harald Haas is the co-founder of Pure LiFi. With whose thinking we can use LiFi Technology in the future.

According to Harald Haas, if any information is sent through the Visible Light Portion. So it is called Visible light communication (VLC). Harald Haas launched a D-Light Project. From 2010 to 2012, he gave a lot of time to this project when he was in Edinburgh’s Institute. After spending a lot of time on this project. During the TED Global Talk in 2011, LiFi Technology was demonstrated to the public. After this, people started knowing about this technology. At the same time, without losing time, a company was launched called PureLiFI which is now.

PureLiFi previously had a name Pure VLC which was an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) company. To increase the business of Purelifi, this company started working on Mojuda LED Lighting.

In October 2011, the company formed the LiFi Consortium by joining groups of industries. Both had the same objective to set up the High-Speed Wireless System. To eliminate the Limitation in Radio Waves. There were many companies that started making Uni-Directional VLC products but they were quite different from Li-Fi.

In 2012, VLC Technology was demonstrated with LiFi. This was certified in an August 2013 performance. In this, data transmission was happening with Single Color LED 1.6 Gbit / sec. The presses of September 2013, it was said that there is no need for Line of Sight in LiFi. In an October 2013 report, it was reported that Chinese manufacturers are engaged in developing a LiFi kit.

In April 2014, Russian company Stins Coman developed a wireless network called BeamCaster. Currently, the data speed in this is about 1.25 gigabytes per second. In the future, the speed of LiFi is going to be 5 GB / sec. This was the history of small LiFi. You like Sayed Now let’s talk about its benefits and
About the loss.

My final Words

I always think that I get accurate and accurate and complete information from you. What you learn today, what is LiFi and how it works. By the way, this internet service has not come yet. There is a lot of future ahead, you can use the INTERNET in the street light which is there on the road.

Hopefully, now you know that what is LiFi?,  How does LiFi Work?, LiFi vs WiFi, Advantages, and Disadvantages of LiFi, History of LiFi
